Black and White Cactus Inspired Baby Shower | Hunter Ryan Photo
What do you do when you are a florist / event designer and you can envision every detail of your baby shower. Well, you design it and ask your sister in law and mom to execute all those details, lol! I wanted to create something that was masculine with a clean color palette. Something that was not a cute baby boy shower but, that was still sweet enough for a baby. Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE neutral colors. So, per usual they were my go to. The shower was held at my parents on their porch on a wonderful February afternoon. It was a special day that I celebrated Baby Drake with, my closest friends, family and his birth mama. This day was completely about him and I am so happy to share it with the world.
In the centerpieces some of the main flowers were, white garden roses, white ranunculus, and white spray roses. The main element was definitely the prickly pear cactus. Those were something that I forged locally for along with some of the texture elements. Word to the wise, when you are collecting cactus, do not underestimate the thorns! The black stone compotes were flanked with tiny potted cactus that doubled as the guests favors.
By far my favorite element was the entrance. Guests were welcomed by an cast aluminum, life size Indian and a laser cut "love your tribe" sign. It really set the tone for the whole design.
